Case Study

Johns Hopkins University

Baltimore, Maryland
Housing & Dining Master Plan

In collaboration with an architectural firm, Envision Strategies conducted a Housing & Dining Master Plan study for JHU. Based on our findings and recommendations, the University is now in the process of designing a replacement dining hall that will accommodate projected future demand, welcome all campus community members (not just residents) and incorporate intentionally-designed platforms for supporting a broad menu that accommodates vegetarian/vegan, allergen-friendly, Halal and Kosher dietary requirements.  The comprehensive plan also adjusted the retail portfolio to factor in the new locally-operated food outlets in the newly opened Hopkins Student Center, campus traffic and dining pattern changes impacted by new physical developments as well as meal plan changes, and development of a commissary/warehouse facility to support both Hopkins-operated as well as tenant-operated venues across the Homewood campus.
